I have an upcoming exam this week so all my free time has been consumed by preparing for it. Thus, I haven’t been able to do much sewing lately. 😦 Additionally, I have final exams in 2 weeks and a comprehensive masters exam in 4 weeks that involves taking a 4 hour exam covering all my core theory courses. Ugh! As a result, progress on my sewing projects will be slow as I try to spare a few minutes to do little bits of my work-in-process garments.
As a break from studies, I flipped though my freshly delivered Burda Style 5/2012 magazine and picked out some potential future projects.
I love this pencil skirt with side pleats. I also love this print but it might be too busy to see the skirt detail.
This lace skirt is also cute. It has a front zipper fly and pockets.
This top is simple but I love the idea that it can be whipped up in an afternoon.
This 2- piece dress is pretty. It looks like 2 separate pieces but it is somehow connected along the bateau neckline. I’ll have to check out the line-drawings.
I love this vintage design.
Interesting color blocked dress.
Maybe I’ll trace some of these this summer, when I have some free time??

Just wanted to wish you all the best for your exams. I have just found your blog today and am very excited about following it.
Pedagogue
Hi Pedagogue- Thanks for your kind comment! I much rather be sewing but hopefully I will pass all my exams in the short term and move on with my life. ;p

I picked up my copy of this yesterday, for a change there are quite a few patterns I want to make, and daughter no 2 has dog-eared some too… That first skirt will look great on her, and the plus size patterns are cool this time too!
OOh, I’d love to see your version of the first skirt!
I can’t wait to get my hands on the May issue. It looks fabulous. Unfortunately it takes three months to hit the Australian news stands. I really must look into a subscription.
